QR Codes in Japan

With cell phones ubiquitous in Japan issue, one so big users of mobile phones to access Web sites of print jobs are advertised in. Fortunately, this problem was solved in 1994 by Nippon Denso in Japan if it came with a barcode, QR Quick Response codes, as they are commonly known as. In this article we will talk in Japan, what they are and how these codes are used.

What are QR Codes?

QR codes are essentially two dimensionsThe bar code can encode the text in Japanese or English. The text can be used as e-mail, web address, telephone number or plain text to be labeled. When printing, you are great places with lots of little squares in them, conventional black text on white squares, but that is only to maximize the contrast so that they are sometimes found in other colors.

How to use QR codes?

To read the data, whatever you choose to read QR codemenu of your phone (all new mobile phones in Japan, can read the function of QR Codes) of the camera phone's QR code and a record number of photos. One thing I have noticed that many people try their hardest to fill the viewfinder with the image, a task made more difficult by the shadow of the phone and make sure the image is properly aligned. However, this may not be necessary as the average mobile phone has a camera with enough resolution and software with sufficient smarts- QR codes are indicators of monitoring software to help the image correctly. Just check the phone in the general direction of the QR code is sufficient, most of the time.

What are QR Codes used?

The most common use of these codes are in advertising, of course. The two main types are advertised to access a Web site for more product information or, especially in terms of restaurant promotions, access to a voucher. TheEssentially two ways to encode this information first and obvious is a direct URL, but the other way is an email address in the QR code. If an empty message is sent to this address, you sent a reply with a URL access. From a supply perspective, the user e-mail is now caught, this is very valuable opportunity to build a mailing list of potential customers.

Other interesting QR codes used:

These codes appear only as smallThe images in advertising, but once or twice I saw them hang build new skyscrapers. And QR codes are a minimum of 10 square meters, and can probably be covered on most cellular standards. There is also a game called QR-Kill, where everyone brings a QR code on their clothing and other hunting and "kill" their targets by shooting their code that sends an SMS to the victim. A third practical application is based on information, websites, computers, such as mapping or route accessSoftware design. A QR code with a URL that is displayed on the data on your computer screen so that you can capture that their phone.

With research showing that using more than 60% of mobile users QR codes, is surely only a matter of time before they reach the same level of popularity in the West.
